I actually saved part of what would've been yesterday's entry. I'll include it and then write the rest...
Xanga, let me tell y’all about my day (ed. note: this is being written before noon). One thing - can’t really call it an issue or complaint because it’s not that serious - is that I never get to do anything anywhere near my talent level at work. I understand the reason for that, which is why it doesn’t upset me the way it used to. At any rate, supervisor asks two other people if they can do something, but both are busy. Hearing the “last resort”-ness in her voice, she asked me if I could. Now, this was nothing crucial but at least it was different. So I went and did it.
On my way out of the Capitol (it involved going over there), I ran into my representative - whom I’d been trying to get into contact with for weeks, but reached a stone wall in the form of his assistant. Talked to him for a couple of minutes and he said to catch up with him after session is over today. And finally, walking back to the office; I saw this amazingly fine woman in front of me. I haven’t seen anyone that fine since…at least Homecoming, possibly last year’s legislative session. I’ll probably still be thinking about her when this goes up (which will be after the rest of the workday, the meeting with the representative, and my should-be run). Yes, she looked that good.
Rest of the day was pretty cool, until I did some unexpected running around last night. After I got home I watched some basketball and somehow had enough energy to work out.
This morning was as crazy as yesterday afternoon...oh, I ended up not meeting my representative because session ended early. Sigh. Yesterday afternoon and this morning I was back and forth between the office and the Capitol. You all already know how that goes. We had a cookout at the office this afternoon, which was cool. This afternoon was really slow, but more than a little bit funny. From the supervisor forgetting to do something she does every day by 10 AM and me reminding her to the usual legislator comedy to our own side comments to the plain inane-ness of certain legislative staff, I didn't even need my MP3 player. Came back here and I'm thinking of going out. Pretty much covers it...oh, and I ran too. Okay, that covers it.
